Venue Change: Downstairs moved to Capitol + updates!

Dear Friends,

What a weekend! We are blown away by how eagerly tickets were purchased since we offered them on Friday. ๐Ÿคฏ THE FESTIVAL IS 10 DAYS AWAY!

Savoy Downstairs schedule is moving to the Capitol Theater #3

We are busy loading and testing the movies to make sure everything goes smoothly for you. As most of you know the Savoy is making progress in their rebuilding efforts, but as of today, the Downstairs is not quite ready to load films. So we are moving all of those programs to a second screen at the Capitol Theater. The schedule will remain the same. The Savoy Upstairs is fully operational and on track for the festival.

We remain grateful to the participation of the Savoy and the Capitol, both of which are independent, family-owned local businesses. We want to acknowledge that theaters in general have been greatly affected by the pandemic. Both these venues were damaged by the July 10th flood. We need to give everyone grace to rebuild the best way they can, and the Downstairs needs a bit more time.

To repeat: All movies originally slated for the Savoy Downstairs ONLY have been moved to Capitol Theater, screen 3. This is the first screen on the left as you enter the concessions area. Two bonuses from this move is that it allows us to open more seating for these shows and these shows are now wheelchair accessible. This venue change has been made to the ticketing site.

This affects the following shows: Against the Tide, Arnold is a Model Student, Borders (shorts), Film Slam/Youth Showcase, Love & Lack (shorts), Mambar Pierrette, Motherland, Mothership Monthly (shorts), Mountains, Portraits (shorts), Sky Hopinka (shorts).

If this change requires a revision to your existing ticket purchase, please email me so I can help with that: director@gmffestival.org.

Sold out shows and waitlists

We are currently sold out of the Opening Night Party, I Saw the TV Glow, and Robot Dreams. If we are able to release more tickets to any of these, we will post to social media, so please follow us on Facebook and Instagram.

Waitlists will be managed at the door on the day of the show, no more than 30 minutes before the start time. In the meantime, please check out these popular shows that are filling up: Farming While Black, Joonam, Reality, We Are Guardians, Vermont Shorts.

Volunteer with the festival

The Green Mountain Film Festival has openings for many volunteer roles--most of which will be engaging with fellow festival-goers. Ticket validation, ticket sales, crowd management, and general customer service help is welcome. Here is the spreadsheet with available positions. Please email me if you're interested in helping out!
